We got a new toy!
OK, not me. Jee did - but I really love this lens already. Big aperture, so I can shoot at relatively high shutter speed with my damn shaky hands. *slaps the stupid hands* And it’s AWESOME for low lighting, something we’d been wishing for since we bought our camera with kit lens.
Oh, word of the wise for those who live in Kuching and wanna buy this lens. Don’t buy locally. We asked around and not only is it more expensive, they don’t have it on stock and you have to wait about a week or heck, maybe even a month. Buy it online - Shashinki.com or yamiya.com.my.
Some pictures taken as a test drive with it. Sorry, I know… there are lots of kitty pictures. They’re the most willing participant(s) we can find.
Not a good picture, but showcases how this lens can handle being in low lighting. This is real life - that’s Zoe on my bed in the morning, and the curtain is always almost closed completely.
Zoe again. This time in our semi-dark closet hall. It was actually darker than this.
And now… these are some stray kittens a mama cat always brings to my mother in law’s house. This mama cat is funny - she goes to their sundry shop to catch mice in her afternoon shift, then disappears. Every single day. And now mama cat knows where my mother in law lives so she comes often to beg for food, bringing her entourage of fluffy kittens in her wake.

This shot is completely blurred and such, but Jee insisted he loves it. I guess sometimes a bit of blurriness is a nice change from tack sharp photos all the time. And yes, furious little kitty was hissing at me.
Have you noticed how freakin’ hot it is nowadays?!!! Three cold showers a day is MANDATORY!

Actually Jee is eyeing 18-200 3.5-5.6. And 70-200 2.8. And a speedlight.

But yeah… I actually do like it, a lot. It’s a nice change.

Only because he can’t sneak up on kittens for a shot. That guy moves like an elephant on tightrope and makes as much noise as a stampede. But otherwise his shots are good.
We would probably end up buying 70-200 when we’re 50 or something… crazy expensive.

no one’s saying the models need to be beautiful. you can throw a g-string at the *any* gal and someone out there would find her sexy because sexy is an attitude….and not a physical state.
and no one said the models need to be gals. i’m sure there are some dudes in thailand who’d love to jump into a g-string…. :-X rofl
seriously tho, gals need to be more open about taking pics, learning to pose, and in turn take pics of their husbands posing etc cuz guys can learn the same lesson too…it’s not only a learning experience, but also a couple’s activity. Don’t like them? Digital lets you hit the delete button :) Like them? keep them in a *private* location. :)

Edison is heroic. The only part he had wrong was that he was born asian and sex is major taboo in our culture. What a dumbass. Had he been a white guy, he’d be a billionaire playboy posing with paris hilton right about….now :P
